Company Description:

Elemental Pens is a shop based on the simple art of turning wood and other materials into something beautiful that will be treasured for years. Our items are created with care and time honed techniques. Our most popular items are pens, pencils, darts, bowls and other custom items.

We have turned my hobby into a small business with two purposes. First it allows me to share the beauty of one of a kind hand-crafted items. Second it allows me to continue with the hobby that brings me joy. I delight in seeing people look over what I've made and make purchases they and their loved ones will enjoy for many years. We source the domestic lumber locally as much as possible by cutting the trees and milling the lumber ourselves. Seeing these projects go from tree to finished products makes each piece truly personal.

My wife has come along side me to help turn the business into what we have now. She manages the business side and we've now started taking my work to craft sales here in Iowa. We hope you find something you like but we are very happy to take custom orders as well.

Having tinkered with wood and building projects since I was in my dad's garage, I have become highly skilled at something I genuinely love to do. Once I graduated college and purchased some of my own tools, I was able to continually grow my methods and abilities over the past twenty + years. For more than 17 years I have used my God given love of wood turning to make hundreds of pens and other items from, kids toys to darts and bowls. My wife and kids have enjoyed the many items I have made for them over the years. With this shop I hope to spread joy to others through the beautiful hand-crafted items.
